CDOs: Breaking the glass ceiling by enabling middle management
Available on demand
How CDOs can add value at all levels within organizations
According to Harvard Business Review, the role of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) has grown enormously, with approximately 83% of large organizations now having a CDO in place. However, the position is still considered to be poorly defined. Sixty-two percent of CDOs surveyed in the HBR research claimed their role is not well understood, and they are often met with unrealistic expectations and short tenures. The average duration is just two to two-and-a-half years.
In this video, host Dael Williamson is joined by Robin Sutara, ex-CDO Microsoft UK and Field CTO at Databricks, Joëlle van der Bijl, Global D&A Director (a.i.) at FrieslandCampina and Rob McKendrick, Field Chief Data Officer at Arreoblue to discuss how there is a clear need for CDOs to focus on adding visible value to their organizations.
The panel dives into important subjects including how the responsibilities of the CDO should evolve in order to enable middle management and provide valuable advice based on real-life use cases and experiences.
